away from Bordeaux, 45mins from the historic town of Saintes,
which is steeped in Roman Artefacts i.e.. coliseum and museums.
Also 45mins from the
coastal resort of Royan, with its lovely beaches, restaurants
and bars. Here you can have a short ferry ride to the Medoc region.
Travelling: The best
route to take, we find, is to fly to La Rochelle
airport, cars can be hired at the airport, the town can be reached
via the motorway in approximately 45-50mins. Should you wish to
take the ferry from Calais it will take you approx. 7hr30min.
